Philippe Charbonneau is a composer, producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist from Hull, Québec. He co-founded E-Tron Rec., a record label that, since 2010, has established itself as a leading canadian creative musical outlet with over 30 releases from artists from the capital region and abroad. His portfolio as a producer includes Boyhood’s « Shells EP », Pony Girl’s critically acclaimed albums « Enny One Wil Love You » and « Laff it Off », Claude Munson’s « The Silence Came After » and « Boxing Day Weekend » and Baker’s synth pop EP « Blood Sport ». Philippe is also the founder and lead singer of Scattered Clouds, an experimental rock duo that has released 5 self-produced albums and toured throughout the United States and Europe. For over 20 years of professional work as a session bass player and keyboardist, he has toured and recorded with Land of Talk, Esmerine, Boyhood, Nick Schofield, Scattered Clouds, Jim Bryson, Kalle Mattson, Kathleen Edwards, Evening Hymns and many more. In 2023, he won a JUNO award for best instrumental album for his work as co-writer and multi-instrumentalist on Esmerine‘s « Everything Was Forever Until it Was No More ». Since 2013, Charbonneau has worked as a contemporary dance accompanist and composer for Canadian dance companies Ottawa Dance Directive, Tara Luz and FDMS (Festival de dance en milieu scolaire). He is currently a member of the Hull experimental instrumental outfit « Album » and played double-bass on the projects sophomore album « Portrait de l’artiste » released via Telephone Explosion in 2023. |
